1 I am〔 I’m 〕 watching TV now. （私は今，テレビを見ています。）
▶現在進行形の文 「（今）～しています，～しているところです」のように，今現在進行している動作を表すと きは，〈 主語＋be動詞（am，are，is）＋動詞のing形～.〉で表す。主語によってbe動詞を使い分ける。
▶動詞のing形の作り方 動詞の原形にingをつける。
① たいていの語…そのままingをつける ② 語尾がe … eをとってingをつける ③ 語尾が〈 短母音＋子音字 〉…子音字を重ねてingをつける
2 I am〔 I’m 〕 not watching TV now. （私は今，テレビを見ていません。）
▶現在進行形の否定文 be動詞のあとにnotを置く。
3 Are you watching TV now? （あなたは今，テレビを見ていますか。
Yes, I am. / No, I am〔 I’m 〕 not. はい，見ています。/ いいえ，見ていません。）
▶現在進行形の疑問文 be動詞を主語の前に置く。答えるときもbe動詞を使う。
